BOOK AND VIDEOCASSETTE COLLECTIONS

ABC's! Adventure! Animals! Story books, picture books, and chapter books are to be found in abundance in this area. Or how about Amelia Bedelia, Curious George, Madeline, Arthur or Henry and Mudge? Bring your children in and introduce them to the wonderful world of books! Be sure to let them play with the stuffed animals and fun puzzles. And while in the library check out a couple of the wholesome and entertaining videocassettes for children.

Teachers will also find books to aid them in developing young minds. There are factual books on a host of subjects, science, math, history, biography, geography to name a few, that are written to make learning fun, satisfying and worthwhile!

PRE-SCHOOL STORYHOUR

StoryHour is held at the library every Thursday morning at 10:30 am from September through June. World-renowned storytellers, Ann Irons and Barbara Gamage tell stories, read books, sing songs, and get the little ones actively enjoying books and the library. All pre-schoolers are welcome. Bring your little ones in for these great experiences!

INTERNET ACCESS

The library  has computers provided by grants from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that make it possible for young children from age 3 and up to learn and have fun at the same time. The Arthur programs feature a variety of skill levels that are designed to help them build basic logic, math, and reading skills through the use of games, puzzles, and fun challenges. The Barney programs offer a variety of learning activities that reinforce early elementary education concepts such as counting, matching, and following directions. Other learning games and inter-active books are easy to use and entertaining for children.
