MissionThe mission of the Cumberland County Public Library (CCPL) is to fulfill the informational, educational, technological, cultural, and recreational needs of its patrons by providing free and convenient access to the world of ideas through its collections of materials, services and programs. ServicesReference & Geneaological Research AssistanceNot sure where to start to find the information you need? Not sure how to make sense of what you have found? Please ask -- that's what we're here for! CCPL has two full-time and two part-time staff as well as many well-informed, friendly, helpful volunteers. For geneaological assistance, our "resident expert" is Mrs. Marge Wise. Computing & Data ServicesCCPL provides free high-speed internet access and basic word-processing on three (3) general-use public access PCs. The library also has wireless internet access available to those who have their own wireless-ready laptop computer. Please note that due to filtering, email access is not possible on the wireless network, but IS available on the library's public PCs. Printing is available at each PC, and there is a 20¢ per-page charge. A basic copy machine for patron use is located near the circulation desk. The charge for photocopying is 20¢ per page. The machine can reduce or enlarge images, but double-sided printing is not available. CCPL provides patrons with access to over 20,000
books, audiobooks (cassette and CD), periodicals, videocassettes, and DVDs. Governing BoardCumberland County Public Library is a private 401(c)3 non-profit institution governed by a Board of Trustees. Board meetings are announced on this web site and posted in the Library. Regular meetings are held on a quarterly basis.
VolunteersOur library could not be operated without the services of many fine volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please stop by and fill out an application. Friends of the Cumberland County Public LibraryA tax exempt, not-for-profit organization made up of friends and neighbors who have joined together to support and promote the library as a vital resource in the county. There is one annual meeting, held in October of each year. Membership applications may be picked up at the library. The three types of yearly membership are:
