2020 Imagine Your Story

(Updated 5/23/2020)

It’s time to register for Summer Reading!

Cumberland County Public Library presents its 2020 Summer Reading Program

(Click the blue link above to register.)

This year’s summer reading program will run from May 24 to August 1 and will involve 10 weeks of at-home activities presented in two parts:

  • The first four weeks (May 24 to June 20) will be focused on the books that have been assigned to students by the local schools. Activities will be available for all levels and evidence of completed work will be required in order to determine the weekly prizes which the students are eligible to receive.
  • The last six weeks (June 21 to August 1) will be focused on the 2020 Collaborative Summer Library Program theme “Imagine Your Story”.  The theme centers around the genres of fairy tales, mythology, tall tales, legends, science fiction, and fantasy. Each week a different type of literature will be featured and activities designed to go along with it.

Everyone, including those individuals who are not in school, will log their reading time to be eligible to win the grand prizes given at the end of the program.

Materials will be available on this website, by email, by USPS mail, or by pick-up at the library. How you will get your program materials is part of the registration process. We hope to have thought-provoking activities that will inspire readers to think of their own stories and what they could be. The activities for the second part of the program will include some that can be done online for participants who have the ability to do so.

Program Calendar
